At PD Holmes, we have an exciting new technology (patent pending) that has been developed to detect abnormal hand motion at the microscopic level from smartphone videos of the hand. It automatically detects the hand from the video frames and then classifies the motion as normal or not. This is done using a novel framework which involves Eulerian Video Magnification, Skeletonization using multi view bootstrapping, heat-mapping and automated waveform analysis and classification using a Neural Network. This method is expected to help in the early detection of hand tremors, even before they are visible to the naked eye. We intend to use this technology for early detection of Parkinson's disease, differentiating between normal hands and those with early signs of the disease. Additionally, this novel workflow has also been tested to determine abnormalities in respiration and pulse rates. This application of respiration-rate determination has immense power in the present COVID times where doctors can remotely monitor the vitals of their patients through mobile phone videos. We are currently working with doctors to bring this technology to patients free of cost, to provide this easy and accessible mode of monitoring vitals. All these applications of our technology is something that we believe will have great consequence in the Healthcare domain as it will help in the early detection of hand movement abnormalities and remote vital monitoring through an easy and inexpensive method.
