We are Pediafeed, and our mission is to improve gastric enteral access in neonates and infants by targeting feeding tube displacement, the major postoperative complication with the current standard of long-term assisted feeding, the gastrostomy tube. Informed by a team of strong engineering and clinical mentorship from Johns Hopkins Biomedical Engineering and Children’s National Hospital, our device is engineered to address an unfulfilled need in a market comprised of products that fail to simultaneously reduce displacement and remain easily placed and therefore flexible to use. By eliminating the major barriers to feeding at the most critical stage in child development, we at Pediafeed aim to aid children in leading happier, healthier lives.
