About Penguin Composites

Penguin Composites originally started as a watersport manufacturing business in 1976 but now specialises in manufacturing composite components from various polyesters, isothalics, vinylesters and epoxies combined with composite products of various fibres and core materials to a broad base of industrial, military, commercial and domestic markets. • As a go to problem solver and product development specialist, Penguin Composites works both in house and onsite. The business is also supported by a metal fabrication workshop producing products for our recreational slide-on camper business. • Penguin Composites has attained ISO 9001 and the company manufactures under AS/NZ1546.1:2008. • We manufacture an extensive range products for diverse clients in composite and metal for the architectural, industrial, commercial, marine and recreational vehicle markets. We achieve our manufacturing, training and environment goals using best practices by using administrative systems and adopting lean manufacturing techniques across our workforce of around 50 personnel. • Penguin Composites is currently engaged in a project with THALES Group manufacturing vehicle components and panels for the Hawkei Project delivering 1,100 vehicle sets to the Australian Department of Defence. This project began in 2016 and will run through until 2021 bringing much needed growth and recognition to Tasmania Industry in the Defence Supply Network. We are committed to expanding our Defence Initiatives and have Partnerships with a number of Defence Contractors delivering solutions to a wide range of Australian & International projects • One of our core competencies is bespoke manufacture of high specification FRP components for Architectural use. • Another important core industry is the Mass Transport Industry where we continue to be a preferred supplier of Fibreglass panels to Australia's leading Bus & Train manufacturers as they strive to meet our country's emerging demand.
