Penn Reproductive Justice

Hello, we are Penn Reproductive Justice (PRJ). PRJ is a team of educators, activists, and students at the University of Pennsylvania fighting for all-things sexual and reproductive justice (RJ). Check out our projects on our website! We were created in response to the overturn of Roe v. Wade, which further restricted reproductive autonomy and choice— specifically targeting historically marginalized communities that have already struggled with healthcare access and basic necessities. PRJ supports reproductive justice work in both the Penn & Philly community by amplifying local advocacy efforts, distributing resources, raising awareness through education, and developing sustainable and meaningful partnerships. By prioritizing listening to voices throughout communities, PRJ hopes their efforts will empower people to make educated choices and safely care for their reproductive health. Our Values: 1. Being Community-Focused: We commit to not monopolizing, dominating, or silencing the community. We aim to act as a support system to community members/partners, as well as prioritize the community’s most stringent and essential needs first. 2. Being Member-Focused: As a group, we find it imperative that we are all receptive to feedback from members and that we play an active role in creating a welcoming, empowering, transparent community. 3. Being Sustainable and Impact-Driven: We want to emphasize long-lasting and loyal relationships with community partners and enact meaningful and intentional change that is measured and valuable to our community. 4. Uplifting Diverse Backgrounds: We want to put personal stories and lived experiences at the forefront of our work as well as acknowledge and affirm input from members of all experience levels.
