Pennsylvania Equality Project

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to ending discrimination against the LGBTQ community in Pennsylvania through education, training, research, and charitable works. Furthermore, we seek a ban on ex-gay conversion therapy on minors in Pennsylvania. We believe that a people cannot change their sexual orientation nor their gender identity. Our big goal is to open a community resource and drop in center in northwest Pennsylvania that would provide a safe space for LGBTQ youth who are forcibly removed from home. Ideally, our facility would offer temporary shelter, an address for our clients to use for job applications, computers for research and resume writing, social workers to help our clients get benefits to support themselves, laundry facilities to allow our clients to clean their clothing. We believe that no child nor young adult should be kicked out of their home because of sexual orientation or gender identity. Presently, Pennsylvania Equality Project offers training for institutions large and small regarding LGBTQ civil rights, discrimination, LGBTQ 101, and LGBTQ history. We are a new non-profit and will be using the next few years to expand our reach and provide additional opportunities for the public.
