About Pentland Ferries

Pentland Ferries is a family business that operates a ro-ro passenger and vehicle service between the Scottish mainland and the Orkney isles. The MV Pentalina is a state of the art catamaran that holds up to 350 passengers and up to 80 cars. She has a relaxing seating lounge, canteen and outside viewing deck for passengers to enjoy. The ship completes three return trips a day with additional sailings over the summer months. Pentland Ferries is competitively priced and the environmentally friendly option when travelling to Orkney. The company started operations in 2001 by Mr Andrew Banks O.B.E., a local entrepreneur, and has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Mr Banks was awarded an O.B.E. by Her Majesty the Queen in March 2014 for his services to Transport and the Orkney Community.
