People Analytics Civic Ventures Studio is a Toronto-based venture studio that builds mission-driven startups to protect truth, steward public insight, and fortify civic infrastructure, especially in environments where accurate data is difficult, dangerous, or deliberately suppressed. We back ventures that operate without compromise, tools of public trust that stand outside the influence of authoritarian regimes. None of our ventures has physical presence, operations, or staff in the countries they study. This isn’t just a security protocol; it’s a philosophy. From survey research in closed societies to AI-powered civic automation, we design ventures that can reach into high-friction geographies without being captured by them. Our portfolio spans China, Iran, Iraq, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan, among others, but all ventures are fully operated from Canada. We never place personnel or infrastructure within the legal reach of repressive governments. Instead, we build from the outside in, using cloud infrastructure, remote tools, and careful legal design to keep our teams safe and our data independent. VoxDash - our flagship data governance and survey-sharing platform - is backed by the Microsoft for Startups program and runs on Azure AI. Other ventures include an AI-driven data collection venture (currently in stealth), VoxNations (a public opinion firm covering hard-to-measure populations), and IranPoll (licensed by the U.S. Treasury OFAC to conduct lawful research on Iranian public sentiment). Our founder, Dr. Amir Farmanesh, is a global advisor on public opinion research and governance who has shaped insight infrastructure across 20+ countries. We don’t build disposable products. We build platforms that last and serve. We believe startups can be quiet architectures for truth. We’re not chasing the next unicorn. We’re building the next institution.
