Pepkor UK was established in 2014 to manage corporate activity in the United Kingdom and support the Pepkor group in making strategic acquisitions and investments in growing segments of the UK retail market. In the last few years, the UK retail market has seen a transformational change in consumer shopping behaviour and Pepkor UK will focus on growth segments – in the first instance, the discount sector – which UK customers have embraced with new vigour. It will look to invest in businesses that have the potential to grow through expansion and/or operational improvement – with the overall aim of building long-term value in active and collaborative partnership with the companies and management teams it invests in.
