Permatil Global is a non-profit foundation, set up in March 2020 by partners with a strong history of positive and long-lasting environmental, social and food-production change. The inspiration to set up Permatil Global is based on the success of our co-produced Tropical Permaculture Guidebook, it’s potential to expand as well as related educational resources and on-the-ground projects that will follow.
We focus on increasing accessibility of comprehensive permaculture tools and knowledge, enabling food sovereignty and building resilient communities. It is a Timor-Leste and Australian collaboration that partners with people and groups from many countries and has an emphasis on majority world and practical solutions.
The Tropical Permaculture Guidebook is a comprehensive reference guide to tropical permaculture, with 1000+ pages and 2000+ detailed illustrations and clear, comprehensive text ensuring widespread practical application of the strategies and techniques. Designed as a training, programme and project base as well as a practical reference guide which can be used by a wide range of organisations, it will improve the results of all permaculture/non-permaculture projects and is a complete tool for farmers and communities.
The giudebook and all of our online education resources:
- are and will be available on a ‘pay-what-you-can’ basis to enable open access and promote the ‘Fair Share’ economic model
- are focused on low/no income based regenerative, local strategies and techniques
- are presented in a highly practical, illustration-based style, making them suitable for low-literacy readers as well
- will be translated into the languages of the people who currently find access to appropriate knowledge very difficult
We empower communities to shape their own solutions, from enabling access to vital and appropriate knowledge, to working directly with communities to ascertain their needs and support them in planning and activating their own respondent actions.
