Pharmaceutical Engineering Student Society (PESS) UPRM

The Pharmaceutical Engineering Student Society (PESS) was created to support the educational and networking needs of students enrolled in the Pharmaceutical Engineering minor of the Chemical Engineering Department at UPRM. Driven by the necessities of both industry and academia, the organization’s mission is to foster an academia-industry partnership that builds Puerto Rico’s biopharmaceutical and medical devices industry professional workforce. PESS envisions to bridge the gap between industry and academia by partnering with the Pharmaceutical Industry Association of Puerto Rico (PIA) to provide a space to collaborate and enhance the visibility of current industry challenges and trends. The chapter’s membership community is made up of students interested in becoming professionals within the biopharmaceutical industry. PESS aspires to help students jump-start their careers by building their professional network and providing technical/professional development opportunities to prepare for full-time experiences upon graduation. PESS is committed to provide students the professional enhancement tools to become the top workforce of tomorrow’s pharmaceutical industry in Puerto Rico.
