Pet City was founded in 1988 as a wholesale business. From 1988 to 1995 the company operated as importer, wholesaler & distributor of pet products to more than 1,500 pet shops in Greece. In 1998, the company expanded its business into retail, with its first retail store in Athens, Greece.
Pet City Group is the leader in the pet retail market in Greece with over 36 years of presence. The Group consists of 800 employees, 100+ stores, 4 online shops, and a total area of 20.000m² where our headquarters and logistics are located. Our stores are stocked with over 17.000 products, including top-of-the-line & exclusive brands.
Pet City Group also offers a range of pet care services, including grooming & veterinarian care, as part of our mission to provide the best customer experience to the beloved pets and their parents. Our company is growing rapidly, and we are planning to expand our business further in the upcoming years.
New era for the Pet City group & new shareholder the BC Partners as of 12/21. BC Partners is one of the largest and most experienced private equity groups in Europe.
