Petrophysics International (PI) has more than 40 years of international experience evaluating oil and gas wells in carbonate, sandstone and shale reservoirs under all stages of depletion. Our projects have ranged from single stripper wells to giant fields containing hundreds of wells. We have completed evaluations in more than 35 different countries and 17 North American states and provinces. PI has experience with property appraisal, project development, basin analysis, reservoir simulation, seismic applications, hydraulic fracturing technology and enhanced recovery.
Our competitive advantage when compared to other consulting companies is our decades of experience using core analysis and lithologic and fluid data to build rock and fluid-based models for well log evaluation. The mission and goal of PI is to present the best estimate of hydrocarbon-in-place (HIP) based on your data and our experience. PI answers the basic questions that most petroleum executives ask before funding a project. What is the reservoir rock? How much pore space? How much oil or gas in the pores? Will it flow?
In addition to providing the usual Archie, Waxman-Smits-Thomas, multi-mineral and other conventional porosity and saturation evaluations for open hole well logs, PI has experience with the following : • Special core analysis (SCAL) application (resistivity index, formation factor, NMR, capillary pressure, relative permeability, XRD, DECT) • Design and QC of coring and well logging programs • Mechanical properties’ determination (AVO, frac design) • Wireline formation pressure evaluation (RFT, MDT) • Resistivity inversion modeling (thin beds ,old E-logs) • Cased hole well log evaluation (Sw, porosity, bond) • GRI shale, retort and Dean-Stark core analysis evaluation • Stressed porosity and permeability application (subsidence, compaction) • GIS applications • Reservoir attribute mapping
