People For Animals Public Policy Foundation (PFA PPF) is the legal and policy wing of the parent organisation of People For Animals, which is one of India’s largest animal welfare organisations led by Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi. PFA PPF was founded by Smt. Gauri Maulekhi, an accomplished animal rights activist, and Trustee of People for Animals and several other chapters. She has also been honoured by the President of India with the Nari Shakti Award.
PFA PPF was established with the objective of impacting the lives of animals in India by being a part of policy reform and setting up systems which are sustainable and humane. The organisation’s work is primarily focused on policy reform and capacity building.
PFA PPF organises capacity building and sensitisation workshops for civil servants, Judges, Police Officers, government officials etc. to help them better understand relevant aspects of animal protection.
PFA PPF, along with People For Animals Uttarakhand (PFA UKD), powers the Ahimsa Fellowship to empower people and give direction to their dedication and compassion for animals by training them in legal and public policy and other facets of animal protection.
