The Pitzer Family Education Foundation (PFEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of incarceration through education. We provide scholarships and financial aid for children of incarcerated parents and for individuals returning home from prison—helping them pursue college degrees, trade schools, and certificate programs that unlock meaningful careers.
We believe education is one of the most powerful tools for change. By directly involving currently incarcerated individuals in supporting these scholarships, we foster pro-social values that strengthen family bonds and prepare them for successful reentry into society.
Our mission is to partner with Federal, State, and City Departments of Corrections nationwide to ensure access to education for families impacted by incarceration—building stronger, safer, and more hopeful communities.
