PGC1-Coaching

PGC1-Coaching is an online based coaching company based in Northamptonshire, England. We specialise in endurance running coaching and use up to date scientific concepts to help athletes improve their running. PGC1-Coaching has helped over 100 athletes both domestically and internationally improve their performance. PGC1-Coaching was founded in 2019 in order to provide bespoke training plans for runners from coaches with a deep knowledge of both the science and art behind endurance running. Our coaches are all UKA Qualified coaches, hold degree qualifications within the Sport and Exercise Science field and are accomplished athletes in their own right. This gives them a unique perspective on how to help you improve your running, stay accountable and get the most out of yourself. As a collective, PGC1-Coaching is made up of athletes trying to run their first marathon all the way up to trying to qualifying for the Commonwealth games. The principles behind the training at PGC1 fall down to a these key factors: being consistent with you what you do, structuring your training around your life in order to give you the best chance to achieve your goals and most importantly enjoying the process! As well as bespoke endurance training programmes PGC1-Coaching also provides further opportunities to athletes with 1-1 coaching sessions, bespoke nutrition coaching, 1-1 psychology support and advice and group training sessions. PGC1-Coaching was named after the mitochondrial enzyme PGC-1alpha. PGC-1alpha is a key regulator of aerobic metabolism and development. The inspiration for using this as the company name is because at PGC1 we match up the science behind running to the art of coaching in order to give our clients the best running experience possible.
