Prince George's County Workforce Development Board

The Prince George’s County Workforce Development Board is one of thirteen local workforce development boards in Maryland. The Board serves as the governing body for the Prince George's County Workforce Development Area and Prince George's County Public Workforce System. The Board is comprised of 34 members, including 3 elected officials and 31 general members, appointed by the County Executive of Prince George's County. Board Members represent various private and public sector stakeholders, providing leadership, direction and policy oversight for Prince George's County Public Workforce System. The mission of the Prince George's County Workforce Development Board is to be a workforce development board that drives the innovation, integration, continuity, productivity, and efficiency of a workforce system that produces a robust, qualified, and skilled workforce that meets the needs of the business community. The Board achieves its mission by operating the Prince George's County Public Workforce System as a free membership network, the Prince George's County American Job Center Community Network. Annually the Prince George's County American Job Center Community Network serves over 25,000 job seekers and businesses across three American Job Centers. The Prince George's County Workforce Development Board receives administrative support from Employ Prince George's, Inc. Employ Prince George's serves as the administrative agent and fiscal agent of the Prince George's County Workforce Development Board, and it serves as the Operator of the Prince George's County American Job Center Community Network. The Board is not a direct service provider and delivers services through contracted career services providers, business services providers, training providers, and one-stop operators.
