Ph.enomenally D.etermined™ began as a way to help women and girls believe in themselves, especially when the world tries to convince them otherwise. This work walks alongside those rebuilding after abuse, navigating big life transitions, or seeking the courage to take a new step, determined to step into the life they deserve. In 2018, self-doubt nearly stopped the founder from pursuing her doctorate. She understood, firsthand, how powerful fear and self-doubt can be, especially when trying to rebuild a life after hardship. Remembering how challenging her own journey was, she began mentoring fellow survivors of domestic violence who were trying to rebuild, whether returning to school, launching a career, or simply bravely starting over. Support is offered one-on-one and in partnership with service organizations, always honoring each person’s identity and journey. There is also a deep commitment to supporting neurodiverse individuals in building confidence, fostering belonging through meaningful networks, and growing into who they are meant to be. The organization's name inspired by Maya Angelou’s poem, "Phenomenal Woman," and by the powerful inner voice that lives in all of us. That voice can grow faint after hardship, but with encouragement, it becomes steady again, reminding each of us of our strength, reminding us that we are meant for more, and determined to help us rise.
