The Department of Philosophy since its inception over more than seventy-five years ago has been an abode to ideas, that have, and continue to facilitate young thinkers and great minds alike in shaping the horizons of their worlds and beyond. Philosophy being an endeavor that by nature prevails both as an academia and a way for life, the Department strives to provide for a space wherein every partaker can foster intellectual and spiritual progress for themselves, justifying the Socratic motto of "Know Thyself". The Department offers various courses and subject matters under its core pedagogy and well as electives available to all. Apart from this, the Department regularly conducts "Samvād", a lecture series aimed for dialogue and discussion between students and eminent scholars. Alongside, the Department's Annual magazine Falsafa attempts to bring the thoughts and visions of the students to life.
