Philomela was created from my passion for art as well as the love for fashion and Greece. Having graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Aristotle University, I wanted to create my own clothing and fabric line. Philomela products are characterized by their minimal aesthetic, while their patterns are inspired by Greek mythology, nature and tradition.
While travelling from place to place in Greece and abroad, I decided that my last stop would be Zagorohoria. Not only have people here embraced me, but they have also shared my vision about Philomela by teaching me the art of looming and weaving. Epirus has a long lasting tradition of weaving and people pass this knowledge from one generation to the next.
The Philomela clothes and accessories are limited and completely handmade. The yarns used are made of linen, cotton, silk and wool. We use neither machines nor pigment in the colours used; therefore, Philomela is an environmentally friendly brand.
