At Philos Mechanical, our goal is to provide a better way to design, install and maintain mechanical systems. Philos Mechanical employs a complete mechanical engineering team skilled at using the latest computer software in Building Information Modeling (BIM) to design, coordinate, fabricate and install mechanical systems. We typically coordinate within the BIM models provided by the general contractor or owner for each project. Our team of engineers and drafters take a project from initial estimate and budget to final project closeout documents. The engineering team works hand in hand with project managers and superintendents on each project and provides technical support throughout the entirety of the job. A “typical” process for mechanical contractors is to get awarded a project and hand the superintendent a set of plans with a “good luck” type of attitude. There are countless problems with this approach: budgets aren’t met, schedules are behind and material ordering is out of control. Owners often ask the question “what went wrong?” The problem isn’t a labor shortage, unqualified superintendents or project managers. The problem is project delivery.
