Phoenix Air Systems manufactures Hygienic Air Handlers for Critical Process applications such as food processing facilities (meat, poultry, fruits & vegetables, juice, nuts, dairy and eggs, frozen & prepared food).
Used in food processing plants, hygienic air handlers supply fresh, filtered, humidity and cooled / temperature controlled air to pressurize food processing rooms. Room pressurization can inhibit airborne contaminants from entering the processing space from other areas. Controlling humidity is crucial to help reduce free moisture and condensation. Excess moisture fosters the growth and spread of bacteria.
Units have internal drains allowing cleaning and washing of interior.
Operating cycles for processing applications typically include: A processing mode for supplying cool humidity controlled air to the processing space during processing hours. A "clean-up" or "wash-down" mode for supplying heated air to quickly dry rooms and exhaust the humid air to outdoors during daily washing and disinfecting of the room. Heating the room's supply air and exhausting the humidity to outdoors can speed the drying time of the room and reduce turnaround time to resume processing.
