Founded in 2023, the Phoenix Eagles Soccer Club started with the dream of expanding the work of the Eagles footprint in a new region. Charlotte Eagles, Chicago Eagles and So. Cal. Eagles broke the ground for the mission and vision now also being executed in Phoenix. Along with newer offices in Olrando, FL & High Point, NC, Phoenix is now one of the six offices across the U.S covered by parent organization MAI, Missionary Athletes International, established in 1983. The dream became a reality when the CEO of MAI, David Urban connected with Cristian Gomez, a young leader who had started like-minded work with the Youth in Phoenix, AZ. Cristian's efforts started in 2018, who along with his college roommates created a space for underserved youth in Phoenix to find a healthy environment through soccer. This work was supported by Grand Canyon University & their Local Outreach Department.
After graduating from GCU, Cristian and his team had hopes of formalizing this work as a non-profit organization. Missionary Athletes International embraced Cristian and his team and in 2023 Phoenix Eagles was made official as a non-profit organization under the MAI Umbrella.
The Phoenix Eagles now have Youth Club Soccer, and Recreational Soccer programs available in the Phoenix Area.
