A forum for researchers and students interested in Optics and Photonics to learn, discuss, network, educate and spread the potential of Photonics. The Photonics group at IIT Bombay comprises of enthusiastic researchers working on diverse fields including active nano-photonics, plasmonics, valleytronics, ultrafast optics, quantum optics, optical materials, and many others.
Our student chapter is affiliated to two non-profit professional organisations namely, the Optical Society (OSA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Photonics Society, both serving an international community of scientists, engineers, technicians, educators, and business leaders dedicated to advancing the understanding and applications of light. These societies help develop technical knowledge, leadership experience and lasting relationships by providing student travel grants to international technical and leadership conferences, funding a traveling lecturer and, enabling access to various networking materials and resources.
