In order to address these challenges, PhylloPharma is developing oral delivery systems through encapsulation of protein drugs in plant cells.
Plant cells are now being developed as a novel strategy to deliver protein drugs, with initial applications in the treatment of several viral diseases (including SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, CMV, EBV, Hepatis C virus, Herpes viruses).
