PICCO architetti combines the practice and the research of the project from the urban scale to the architecture, designing places of living, work, education and leisure also through complex and innovative plans and programs. Founded in the ’90s, since 2000s the firm consolidates the professional engagement on the issues of urban landscape design, redevelopment of areas and renovation of abandoned buildings using established professional support and specialized contributions for the environment, structures, facilities and mobility with a methodology attentive to the quality of architecture and the complexity of the processes to achieve it. The firm designs places to live with a strong commitment in social and collective residences, paying attention to the delicate balance between morphological quality, comfort and economic sustainability. The firm has designed office complexes, commercial structures and innovative production complexes in urban areas. Committed to renew and diversify the themes on which to confront has created elementary school, secondary schools and university facilities, libraries and facilities for sports and leisure. He continuously participates in architectural competitions by invitation and open participation: finalist for the Library and Cultural Center and for the Competition La Metamorfosi in Turin, he won the one for the redevelopment of the Old Town of Acqui Terme (AL), for the Palazzetto dello Sport in Sora (FR) and, in group, the one for a complex of Social Housing in Ravenna, for the new headquarters of AMIAT spa, for the recovery of the complex TNE in Turin Mirafiori and for new residences for the elderly in St. Veit in Pongau, in France. Veit in Pongau, Austria and in Conselve (PD). Many projects have been the subject of exhibitions and publications in Italian and foreign magazines and books. PICCO architetti was founded by consolidating and renewing a professional, cultural and social commitment started by Giovanni Picco (1932-2014)
