The Pune International Film Festival was launched in 2002, with an idea of attracting the best in celluloid to Pune. Today PIFF has evolved into a major annual event attracting thousands of film aficionados, international guests and the media alike. This international platform features screenings, discussions, lectures, and workshops. PIFF also aims to build a network of professionals in the filmmaking community from all corners of the world. The organisation also strives to push the boundaries of cinema art by encouraging rising talent in the industry. Our Motto: Strengthened cultural discourse through cinema. Our Mission: Instil an academic flavour in the festival related to global cinema and spark a cultural exchange. Every edition of PIFF has a unique contemporary theme. Through categories like World Competition, Marathi Competition, Global Cinema, Country Focus and Retrospective, we bring forth quality films from various countries and cultures. An acclaimed international jury decides awards for films in the competitive sections.
