Started in 2020, PILLARS was born as a response to racial and religious divide, through the use of technology, to promote mutual learning, understanding, and appreciation of different races and religions. At the Mission:Unite hackathon organised by StartupX and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, the PILLARS team was challenged to develop a creative solution to enhance racial and religious harmony in Singapore. It emerged as one of the top ten finalists out of forty teams, which paved the way for it to proudly begin work as a start-up. PILLARS has since developed its niche product - PILLARS The App - a mobile application that acts as a safe platform to connect people from all walks of life, to promote inclusivity, interaction and integration through genuine and shared experiences.
PILLARS The App aims to offer a suite of authentic, shared experiences in Arts & Culture, Lifestyle, and Food, hosted by both users and partners, to cultivate lifelong friendships and strong bonds within a harmonious and increasingly diverse society.
