Born in Southern Switzerland at the shores of the Lago Maggiore, she lived in Italy and Ecuador before moving to the Swiss city of Zurich. She is the founder of Martina Knecht's Hypertext, a content writing and translation studio for the Swiss market specialising in arts and culture, and the co-founder of the music label and publishing house La casa de nadie.
