Best known as The Cradle of American Golf, Pinehurst has hosted more single golf championships than any site in the United States and named as the U.S. Open's First Anchor Site. Pinehurst has served as the host of the U.S. Open in 1999, 2005, 2014 and 2024, with four more major championships scheduled through 2047. The U.S. Women's Open, played here in 2014, returns in 2029.
