Pingo (Pty) Ltd was formed in May 2022, through a joint venture between Shoprite Group and RTT Group, in which both parties own 50%. The partnership followed the rapid growth of Shoprite’s pioneering on-demand grocery solution, Checkers Sixty60.
Checkers Sixty60 is a grocery consumer app, which gives customers the ability to place an order via the app, have the order fulfilled and delivered within 60 minutes. The RTT last-mile enablement solution was built with Sixty60, as part of an ecosystem of solutions. To further enhance and grow this ecosystem, Pingo was created as a separate company providing a full spectrum of on-demand solutions.
Pingo has grown beyond just servicing and supporting Sixty60 and now works with a variety of businesses who require on-demand delivery services.
