PINK CUBE Test Your Breast

PINK CUBE Test Your Breast is a unique breast cancer awareness initiative dedicated to promoting prevention and early detection in Switzerland, while achieving tangible progress. The PINK CUBE is a vibrant pink container that travels to various locations across Switzerland each autumn. Visitors receive free consultations and breast exams from gynecologists and learn self-examination techniques to detect changes early. At the same time, the initiative advocates for nationwide access to mammography screening programs for women aged 50 and older. Mammography is the most effective screening method for early detection in this age group, yet not all cantons currently offer organized screening programs. PINK CUBE is more than just an awareness campaign—it is a collaborative, multi-stakeholder initiative that unites patient organizations, medical professionals, and companies to advance breast cancer prevention and drive meaningful societal and political progress. In 2024, PINK CUBE visited five cities, raising awareness among more than 2.7 million people and providing over 470 breast exams. Signs requiring follow-up action were identified in 34 cases, underscoring the vital importance of early detection. Furthermore, PINK CUBE played a pivotal role in initiating political discussions to establish mammography screening programs in the cantons of Lucerne and Zurich. This initiative serves as an example of how collaboration can unleash its full potential to combat breast cancer and achieve meaningful change.
