PIQUR, a spin-off from the University of Basel, developed PQR309 (bimiralisib), a versatile compound capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier, making it a promising treatment for various diseases, including brain malignancies. Currently, bimiralisib is in Phase 2 clinical studies to evaluate its efficacy against a range of cancers. Swiss Rockets AG acquired bimiralisib and all other PIQUR assets, which are now being further developed by TORQUR AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swiss Rockets AG.
