Pembentukan PT. Pisma Putra Textile sebagai pabrik pemintalan, dari mengatur penempatan ke proses konstruksi dimulai sejak tahun 1994. Namun dengan beberapa pertimbangan, pembangunan proyek baru dimulai pada tahun 1997. Secara resmi pada 26 Februari 2000 diresmikan oleh Menteri dalam Negeri Indonesia, Bapak. Soerjadi Soedirdja mewakili Presiden Indonesia, Bapak Abdurrahman Wahid.
