The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology was founded in 1994* and from the very beginning of its operation drew attention for its high quality of training. Its graduates have been, and continue to be, specialists able to work in areas of computer technology applications; services that are vital for Poland’s development. The academy offers BA and MA studies in five faculties: Computer Science, Graphics, Information Management, Interior Architecture, and Cultural Studies. Education in the first three directions are conducted in English as well. The university also has the right to confer doctoral degrees in Computer Science and Mechanics as well as the Fine Arts. Since PJAIT is the only private university in Poland it has obtained the rights to confer postdoctoral degrees and studies in Technical Sciences in the field of Computer Science, Graphic Design, and 3D Animation, including MBA studies. There is an academic high school at the university too, in which younger students study in the following classes: IT and mathematics, culture, and art. While the head office of PJAIT is located in Warsaw, the university also has an out-of-town department in Gdańsk and a Research and Development Center in Bytom.
