Our Founder Dr. P.J JACOB a Technocrat with his vast experience has started the Company with aim to cater to the needs of Process Control Industry in India. At that time when Indian Industries were much dependent on imported Instruments, our Founder has endogenously developed various instruments and offered them to the Industry. Many of the Instruments, which he has designed and produced, were Import Substitutions. Therefore, there is not wonder that ever since the inception of our Organization our growth is steadily on the increase. The aim was to manufacture Process Control Instruments, such as Air Filter Regulators, Rotameters, Level Switches, Level Gauges, Liquid Level Controllers, Transmitters etc., within a year from the start, the design of most of the instruments were perfected. The approval from various industries were received before 1976. Project and Development Test Evaluation Certificate was received for Regulators and Rotameter’s with DP Regulators in the year 1979. Eventhough there was difficulty in marketing our products to various Heavy Industries in the initial stages these were overcome by our follow up and quality of our products. The sales increased steadily year after year. According to the demand of the Industry, we have started adding various types of Instruments from time to time in our production line thereby offering the choice of products to the Industry. Our company was converted into a private Limited company and was named PLACKA INSTRUMENTS INDIA PVT. LTD., in the year 1998 with Mr. J. Vitto Placka as Managing Director and Mrs. Nimmy Vitto as the Director. For effecting delivery against increasing orders, more machineries and Test equipments were put up and the factory area was increased, and at present we have a total built up area of over 20,000 Sq.ft. and over 60 People working. We have modern and upto date testing facilities for Life Tests and for testing components and assemblies in addition to the conventional test instruments and machines. We have been continuously updating our technology and progressively we established ourselves as one of the No.1 Instrument Manufactures in India. In the year 1992, we received the Coveted Wisitex Award from the President of India. We have all communication facilities like Fax, Telex, E-Mail etc., Our strength is in the design of new products. We have several machineries like Capstan Lathe, Centre Lathe, Presses, TIC Welding equipments, Plastic and Rubber moulding machines, Rubber Hardness Testing Machine, Control furnaces, Powder Coating Plates, Plating Facilities etc., A list of machinery is enclosed. We have several orders on hand for prestigious customers and consultants like HPCL, BPCL, Madras Refineries, Engineers India Limited, BHEL, IPCL, PDIL etc., We are ISO 9001:2008 Certified Company.
