Plan Bee Social Enterprise

Plan Bee Social Enterprise is a project originally developed by Tag International Development and funded by the United Nations Livelihoods and Food Security Trust Fund (LIFT). Our ambition is to produce premium quality honey from the nectar of local plants that characterize the region, educate people on the importance of bees and their preservation, and market our premium honey as a unique local product both within Myanmar and internationally. By reinvesting profits in training new beekeepers every year, and buying honey at a fair-trade price, Plan Bee is leveraging the unique bee-keeping potential in Myanmar to empower and improve livelihoods, nutrition and food security for thousands of vulnerable people, in particular women and landless households. Plan Bee’s ultimate goal is to create a sustainable high-quality organic honey industry and put Myanmar on the global map of honey-producing nations.
