Aquatic animal models are gaining in importance as alternatives to more conventional models such as rodents. The use of zebrafish is rapidly expanding in both basic and applied research in areas such as clinical research, pharmacology, and drug discovery.
The husbandry requirements of zebrafish, and especially their nutritional needs, have a massive impact on both the number of fish required per experiment and their welfare. If experimental animals are not in good health, experiments cannot produce good data!
