PlanRVA is the regional planning district commission for RVA. Our Mission: “Partnering to enable outcomes that matter for our Region” Our purpose is "...to encourage and facilitate local government cooperation and state-local cooperation in addressing, on a regional basis, problems of greater than local significance. [This] cooperation facilitates the recognition and analysis of regional opportunities and takes into consideration regional influences in planning and implementing public policies and services. Our priorities are focused on issues that serve the region including: Transportation, Emergency Management, Environment, and Community Development. PlanRVA provides a variety of services to member local governments: • Funding and Grants Management • Planning • Project Management • Public Participation and Engagement • Research (Modeling / Data / Maps / GIS) • Facilitation
