PLASOMA, our patented cold plasma system, is designed to establish a new global standard in the treatment of complex wounds. The wound care market represents a global industry valued at over €70 billion. With aging populations and a growing prevalence of conditions such as diabetes, key drivers of chronic wounds, the financial and clinical pressures on healthcare systems are intensifying. Current treatment protocols for complex wounds often show limited proven effectiveness, are costly, and may place significant burden on patients and caregivers. Treatment using PLASOMA—a CE-marked Class IIb medical device—has been shown in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to be 2.5 times more effective at closing complex wounds than traditional methods. The IP-protected system consists of two components: a pulser unit, which generates a high voltage to create plasma (ionized air), and cold plasma pads, which deliver the plasma directly to the wound site. The pads are disposable and designed for ease of use. PLASOMA offers significant economic and operational benefits: treatment can reduce healthcare costs by over 40% and increase clinical staff productivity by more than 50%. It is currently the only cold plasma wound care solution proven to be both safe and effective for in-clinic and home use, as validated through a peer-reviewed RCT. Whether treating diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, or burn wounds, PLASOMA delivers results in just two minutes per session, easily integrating into existing care workflows. Plasmacure is actively pursuing reimbursement pathways in the Netherlands, expanding across the European Union, and preparing for market entry in the United States and China.
