Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL)

Established since 1955, the Plastics Export Promotion Council, PLEXCONCIL, is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, Government of India. PLEXCONCIL is a non-profit organization representing exporters from the Indian plastics industry and is engaged in promoting the industry exports and India as a major sourcing hub for the plastics industry. Through its numerous initiatives and activities, Plexconcil endeavours to open new opportunities for the Indian plastics exporters through participation at various industry fairs under the India Pavilion; identify new markets with export potential, organize trade meets through Reverse Buyer Seller programmes, host and lead trade delegations to facilitate export growth and more. The Council acts as a voice for the industry and is a bridge between the plastic exporter community and the Government of India, acting as a source of information, lending support in matters that impact the industry in terms of Policies & Regulations and lending market outreach support to its members through the Government's various export schemes. The council is administered by the Committee of Administration (CoA) comprising nominees from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India; as well as elected representatives from the export trade. The Council represents over 20 major product categories including Consumer & Houseware; Cordage & Fishnets; Floor Coverings, Leathercloth & Laminates; FRP Products / Composites; Human Hair & Related Products; Miscellaneous Plastic Products; Pipes & Fittings; Polyester Film; Plastics Raw Materials; Rigid Packaging & PET Preforms; Woven Sacks / FIBCs; and Writing Instruments which are headed by veterans and captains of the Indian plastics industry.
