Missie
Het Platform-Scenography (P-S) is een zowel analoog als digitaal netwerk dat als doel heeft om de scenografie als een zelfstandige ontwerpdiscipline beter zichtbaar te maken. Zij wil letterlijk een platform bieden waar scenografen uit alle ontwerpdisciplines in het theater (licht, geluid, kostuum, video, ruimte etc) elkaar kunnen ontmoeten, werkervaring en expertise kunnen delen en hun denken kunnen scherpen.
Via ontmoetingen, kruisbestuivingen en confrontaties stimuleert P-S bovendien de zoektocht naar een specifieke taal waarmee de actuele scenografische praktijk op meer adequate wijze benoemd, besproken en geanalyseerd kan worden dan tot nu toe het geval is. De tijdelijkheid van de voorstelling, de vluchtigheid van het medium heeft ook de taal nodig om te beklijven. In deze zoektocht brengt P-S scenografen en dramaturgen bij elkaar om juist door de uitwisseling de reflectie op scenografie te verdiepen. De dramaturgische blik kan iets bijdragen aan de scenografie, terwijl het scenografisch denken op haar beurt een verrijking kan zijn voor de dramaturgische praktijk.
Om de reflectie op scenografie nog verder te versterken, kijkt P-S bewust voorbij de muren van het theater om zo een verbinding tot stand te brengen met andere aan de scenografie verwante ontwerpdisciplines zoals (landschaps)architectuur, ontwerp publieke ruimte, mode en grafisch ontwerp. P-S gelooft dat deze disciplines elkaar een hoop te bieden hebben en wil de uitwisseling tussen deze disciplines ondersteunen en faciliteren.
P-S staat altijd open voor initiatieven van scenografen, dramaturgen en anderszins betrokkenen die kunnen bijdragen aan de hierboven genoemde ontmoeting, uitwisseling en verdieping.
