Player Ready: Alternative Education Provision & VR Centres

Player Ready is a family owned chain of five VR Gaming Entertainment & Educational Centres which started in 2018. Monday - Friday during term time 09:00-15:30 we offer a comprehensive Alternative Provision for Children & Young People aged 7-18 on a programme we called Level Up! We teach digital skills like coding, game design, 3D modelling, 3D printing, video editing, animation, digital art in an environment which encourages and supports learners with SEN Autism, ADHD, PDA or SEMH. Often this forms part of their EHCP requirements and we work closes with local authorities & school partners. Our small groups or 1:1 offerings can be tailored to the needs of the young person who may not be accessing mainstream education, EOTAS or at risk of permenant exclusion. This provision can be found in our venues in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset & Hampshire as well as delivered in a hybrid or online using our in-house hosted platform. After-School & Holiday Clubs Alternative Provision runs during term time. But Player Ready also offers affordable mainstream after-school, weekend and holiday clubs. These clubs such as our popular “Minecraft Coding Club” are teaching similar digital skills using Minecraft, Roblox, Unity, Java, Python, Robotics etc. The clubs have an emphasis on teamwork, friendship and fun. As centres all have amazing immersive Virtual Reality & a lot of gaming consoles, the clubs mix fun & learning! After the clubs during the evenings, weekends and school holidays, Player Ready turn the attention to pure VR FUN and we use all the equipment to host birthdays parties, events, families and groups. Using the same space to deliver family friendly experiences or more intensive Zombie & Racing Simulator based entertainment aimed at adults. Player Ready this way can operate 7 days a week and has plans to offer a few adult learner classes around Unity & Coding. In fact already work with adults on aged 18-25 with an EHCP plan on a 1:1 basis.
