PM10 Laboratories provides a risk-based intervention framework to mitigate the risk potential of fatal occupational lung disease in all particle producing activities in Australia and globally. The framework identifies and confirms risk profiles, verifies risk control measures and allocates resources based on risk priority. The practical implementation of this strategy will lead to the development of a key targeted program.
The Targeted Assessment Program (TAP) is a planned, proactive program that assesses the overall effectiveness of an operator’s attempt to control the critical risk potential of respirable and silica dust, involving a multidisciplinary team of PhD qualified and operational experts. The scope of the targeted assessment includes three elements:
1. A desktop assessment of;
-Controls the client utilises to prevent and mitigate the risk potential of occupational lung disease;
-Means the client utilise to monitor the effectiveness of those controls;
2. Development of a bow tie risk assessment relative to respirable and silica dust compliance.
3. Implementation of recommendations and engineering controls to mitigate the risk of occupational lung disease to as low as reasonably achievable.
