Pride And Prejudice: Collective For South Asian Queer Feminist Studies

Pride And Prejudice: Collective For South Asian Queer Feminist Studies company information, Employees & Contact Information

Young professionals developing discourse, analysis, and action on LGBTQIA+ cultural and policy issues unique to the South Asian* experience; as part of the decolonisation process of the Subcontinent. Why do we exist? Anti-queer narrative, as a colonial tool, was designed to erase our culture, divide our people and blur our identities. Unfortunately, even today, the hate persists. Our goal is to eliminate this and restore, develop and advance this non-normative and heterogenous understanding of love and personhood; in-line with our liberation from caste, creed, and class barriers. It is our understanding that western queer identities can never fully encompass the complexities of the South Asian queer experience. So we must document and immortalise our own stories and design theory which speaks to us. We must decolonize our minds. What do we do? We curate, organise, analyse and publish queer feminist theory with a goal to - 1. further develop South Asian queer theory 2. study the various intersections of decolonial theory and queer political identity 3. raise awareness and rally for human rights
