POCT Consultancy Services was founded by Felicity Dempsey to provide training and support to POCT Managers in hospitals and diagnostic companies in both the public and private sectors across Europe. As an experienced POCT manager in St James Hospital , Dublin, Ireland she was responsible for monitoring, maintenance and accreditation compliance for all POCT devices During this time she achieved accreditation to ISO 15189/22870 standard. This was the first connected POCT system in Ireland to be fully compliant with the standard. In the last four years of the accreditation cycle she was successful in attaining compliance with no non-conformances. Felicity is also an international speaker and presenter covering a range of topics including: • Meeting the challenges of POCT in a hospital setting • Operating POCT connectivity systems • Achieving POCT accreditation • POCT and its role in chronic disease management • Management of risk within POCT • Quality management systems & POCT • Achieving clinical excellence The company’s mission is to ensure that the same standards of quality achieved in the main laboratory are achieved in the POCT Quality Management System. We support hospitals and diagnostic companies in developing strategies which assist in identifying the best use of POCT devices in a Healthcare setting. POCT Consultancy Services can also devise, develop and design relevant and current policies and protocols within the POCT framework. This also includes validation and verification documents. We carry out pre accreditation inspections which enable departments to pass audits on a “first time basis”. We provide advice on managing risk and risk processes; enable continuous quality improvements and can design and implement an audit calendar to meet organisational needs. This is also supported by the development of KPI’s in order to comply with ISO standards.
