Poddar foundation a registered trust was formed in 1983 with the mandate of being of service towards health and wellness in India. A registered trust (Reg. No. E-9634). Dr. Prakriti Poddar the Managing Trustee has recently taken over charge with the intention of building awareness focused on health, wellness, mental health and its effect. Mental health is her personal passion and forte. She is certified counselor.
She, strongly believe that the stigma around mental health to be addressed. Information acts like power, its changes and transforms lives. A better informed society is more equipped to handle health and wellness issues. This is severe lack of awareness and information regarding health, wellness and mental health issues. The silence around mental health is profound in that it perpetuates mental health disharmony. Dr. Poddar has identified environmental and societal barriers that restrict the adoption of learnt knowledge in its behavior.
Currently in the health and wellness space there is an opportunity and need to use digital technology to educate and empower people. Authentic information is the call of the hour. To negate the stigma around mental health disharmony, Poddar foundation attempts to empower individuals to identify the stability of their health and appropriate techniques and skills for positive mental health leading to overall well being.
