The #POINT_health project offers pioneering strategies to minimise the risk of long-term consequences following COVID-19 and other severe infections in general.
The post-acute phase of COVID-19 can lead to severe non-communicable diseases affecting vital systems like pulmonary, cardiovascular, and renal health. With millions affected and a high percentage facing organ function reductions, it's crucial to act now.
By using advanced biomarkers, a virtual twin model for personalized care, and guidelines for healthcare providers, POINT will help to better understand the post-acute phase of COVID-19 and provide a more comprehensive approach to manage patients.
