Our agricultural and animal husbandry company is situated in Poland (just across the border with Germany - 1 hour from Berlin airport). We focus on futureproof, sustainable and animal friendly methods for cultivating crops and animals. That way, we try to contribute to a better future for the next generations.
The activities can be divided into three categories:
- Cultivating the basic agricultural crops. These are wheat, winter barley, Triticale, rapeseed, peas, sunflower and maize. The crops are stored on the farm in silos for spread sales and deliveries.
- Extensively raising Black Angus and Limousin cows. These animals roam the extensive pastures in summer and stocking rates do not exceed 1.7 LU/ha (Large Livestock Unit). The animals are reared GMO-free and thus never fed with soy. Mother and calf stay together for a minimum of 6 months. Manure is recycled to increase soil organic matter content.
- In addition, bio-mass is produced for a partner company that produces bio-LNG. This can be maize, grass, or grass-clover silage. After fermentation, the residues are recycled as fertiliser in the fields. This also to increase soil organic matter content.
We are open to new methods to further reduce our footprint.
