Polaris Software is named after Polaris, the North star. The North star is known to be a navigating light, due to its brightness and because it is readily visible to the naked eye at night. Not only that, but Polaris seemingly stands almost motionless in the sky due to its alignment with the earth’s rotational axis above the north pole, making all other stars of the northern sky to appear to rotate around it. Because of these qualities, Polaris has become a symbol of “steadfastness” and “guidance” through the years. This guidance and navigation are in the foundations of Polaris Software.
