PoliRNA

POLIRNA provides a new generation of versatile polymer-lipid nanocarriers for safe and efficient cell-targeted RNA release with a focus on non-coding RNAs. The technology is currently exploited for the development of novel nanotherapeutics for neuromuscular and heart diseases and versatile kits for research use. POLIRNA start-up will be established by 2023 as a spin-off company of Politecnico di Torino. Technology translation towards the market is mainly driven by Letizia Nicoletti (PhD student, pharmacist, CEO of the startup once founded), Giovanni Paolo Stola (PhD student, Biomedical Engineer, CSO of the startup once founded) and Valeria Chiono (Full Professor, CTO of the startup once founded) from Politecnico di Torino. However, POLIRNA lays its foundation from the enthusiastic work of a wider multidisciplinary team from Politecnico di Torino in collaboration with University of Turin. POLIRNA mission is to expand the horizons of RNA therapies towards the treatment of age-related and rare genetic diseases. Main ambition is to address such societal challenges by fostering research on RNA therapies, decreasing their costs and time-to-market.
